1.  move your x term over by adding or subtracting it

5.4 Writing an equation when given 2 points



to write an equation when given 2 points:

Step #1  Find the slope by using the formula   y2 - y1 /  x2 - x1
Step #2   Find your y int by plugging in a point and your slope to y = mx + b.  then solve that equation for b.
